First year of the virtually bulletproof W201 chassis.  Really outstanding old car for the age and the money.  Runs really nicely, no smoke, noises, etc.  Drives equally well, shifts well, and is tight and quiet like a well cared-for Benz should be.  Miles are low (118K) for an '84. 84190einstrument16.jpg (75458 bytes)   It's clean and unmolested under the hood, also.  No smoke, no leaks.  84190eengine5.jpg (119787 bytes)  84190eengine3.jpg (126124 bytes)  There's no surprises under it.  Undercarriage is is solid as the rest of the car, exhaust is in good condition, and the (usually missing) bellypan under the engine is still correct and intact.  14" alloy wheels and near new tires. 84190etire23.jpg (124617 bytes) Body is NICE....none of the typical rocker/jack point rust, and here's why, I'd guess. 84190ehawaii10.jpg (78147 bytes) It's a 1999 Hawaii vehicle inspection sticker, and it is as close to "history" as I have for the car.  Interior is really nice palomino MB-Tex.  84190elfint11.jpg (86503 bytes)  84190elrint12.jpg (86558 bytes)  84190erfint14.jpg (78532 bytes)  84190ertrint13.jpg (75441 bytes)  No cracks, tears, rips, or even the common wear on the driver's side seat bolster.  Carpets are nice and clean, carpeted mats are "decent" but not new.  Both front seats are power (non-memory) and operate correctly.  The dash, console and wood are all extremely nice.  841903wood3.jpg (69847 bytes)  84190edashcnsole15.jpg (95901 bytes)  94190econsole17.jpg (82542 bytes)  All the power windows, the (non pop-up) power sunroof, and the RH power mirror (left is manual) work 100%.  Power antenna is new....and operates with radio.Radio speaker fader has been bypassed due to the installation of an Alpine AM/FM/CD.  My kid says "It's a GOOD one"......all I can tell you is that it works 100% but it has too many buttons.....and there's also a huge freakin' amplifier under the back seat that MB didn't put there.  Trunk is equally clean, and all the plastic liners and spare tire lid are intact. 84190etrunk6.jpg (94041 bytes)  Spare tire, holddown hardware and jack are all unmolested also.  84190espare7.jpg (80343 bytes)

Accessories:  The climate control works PERFECTLY.  It's still charged with R-12 and it'll freeze you out.  All instruments and clock work 100% EXCEPT the small "outside temperature" LED.  The (typical) MB cruise doesn't work (I checked it out:  it's the amplifier, about $125 for a rebuilt.)  Vacuum Central Locking system, L & R power seats, windows, mirror, sunroof, and (new Hirschmann OEM, not eBay one-size-misfits-all) power antenna all work flawlessly.

Now I'll ruthlessly tear it apart.  I'm way beyond "picky"....."obsessive-compulsive" is closer.  I've been accused of "underselling" cars in the past....but I'd rather do that than "oversell" it.  First off, the reality of the situation.  It's a really nice running and driving, well cared for, good looking 20 year old car.....but it IS 20 years old.  It's not brand new, a restoration, or a cosmetically "doctored-up" mess (and it's not $50K +, either).  I've already mentioned the cruise, and the temperature LED.  There is only one key with the car, and the owner's manual, the tools (except for a lug wrench) and the first aid kit are gone.  Paint (#623 Lt. Ivory) is decent, mostly original.  There's some nicks and chips, but it's been pretty well cared for.  The biggest fault I can find with it (and I'm a painter and FUSSY) is a really crummy "spot repair" of a ding in the (lower) rt rear door and rear quarter panel.  It's hard to see in pics....but here it is.  84190ertrdoor8.jpg (69982 bytes)  84190ertrqtr9.jpg (59973 bytes)  Looks GOOD for a 20 year old car, though.  Other cosmetics are nice....the grille is nice, the strips aren't all mangled or dented, all the lights & lenses are nice with the exception of a chip (NOT a hole) in the RH fog light lens.  84190ertfog22.jpg (119263 bytes)  The only other thing I can bitch about is the hood shock.  Sometimes it holds the hood up, some times it hits you in the head.  "You're lucky it hit you in the head.  It coulda' hurt ya'".  My Dad always used to tell me that when I was a kid.  I wonder what he meant...

It's fully serviced and ready to drive anywhere.  (I'll also include a copy of the W201 service manual on CD if you request.)  I'm using it as a "daily driver", and I'd have NO reservations whatsoever about taking off for parts unknown with it.  It's "tight" and quiet, dependable as hell, drives/operates absolutely fine, and gets GREAT mileage.

Do the "Buy It Now" and I'll include an original and correct tool roll, and first aid kit from my "stash".

I only ask two things......don't ask the "reserve" (I will not disclose it) and please don't waste my time, and I promise not to waste yours.  Thanks!

I will consider Mercedes-Benz trades, but please inquire BEFORE you bid.
